Create your first workflow
A workflow is a trigger, a place to run, and an ordered list of steps.
Open the project's Workflows tab and click New workflow. The workflow editor opens as a full page. At minimum you need a name and at least one step with a name and a command.
- Give the workflow a name under Basics.
- Choose a trigger: Manual, On push, or Schedule — see Manual trigger, Push trigger, and Cron trigger for the details of each.
- Under Runs on, pick This computer to run the steps locally (see Run on this computer), or one of your servers to deploy over SSH (see Add an SSH server). For this computer, also pick a shell: Command Prompt, PowerShell or Git Bash.
- Add one or more steps. Each has a name and a script, which can be several lines. Drag steps by their handle to reorder them. See Steps.
- Optionally list files to keep under Artifacts — see Artifacts.
- Click Save workflow, or Save & run to start it right away.
A simple first workflow is usually a single step. On this computer that might be npm ci and npm run build on two lines; on a server, something like git pull && npm ci && pm2 restart app.
From the workflow list you can also Duplicate a workflow (the copy starts as Manual so it doesn't run on its own) or Delete it, from the … menu on its row. CID asks before you leave the editor with unsaved changes.
