Add a repository
Point CID at a git folder that already exists on your machine.
CID does not clone repositories for you. It reads a local folder you've already cloned yourself, to compute the current branch, commit, and changed files.
- Clone the repository yourself, anywhere on your machine, using your normal git tooling.
- In CID, open your project and go to the Settings tab.
- Under Local folder, click Choose folder… and select the cloned folder.
This path is stored locally only, in a config file on your machine — it's never sent to the API, so each machine running CID needs its own local path set per project. On a shared project, every member clones the repository and chooses their own folder; CID asks when you first open a project shared with you.
Workflows that run on this computer start in this folder. Until it's set, the project's Workflows tab shows a reminder. CID checks the folder before every run; if no path is set, or the folder isn't actually a git repository, you'll see one of these errors:
- Set a local repository path for this project before running a workflow.
- The local path for this project is not a git repository.
